I have a secret sugar habit, and I’m going to tell you about it. I always have a tablespoon of white sugar right before I go to bed. This is the secret part—I don’t eat it. I wash my face with it.
My skin has been breaking out like crazy the last couple of years, and I haven’t been able to figure out what to do. I’ve been told this is because my skin is drier than it used to be, and so it flakes apart, and the dry skin flakes clog my pores. Enter the sugar. When I got my free facial a while back, the woman who did it told me she uses sugar to clean her face every day. It’s gentle, and has a different PH balance than baking soda, which I’ve also tried. I’ve been meaning to try it for a while now, and I finally got around to it. I’m a convert. You take about a tablespoon in your hand and add some water to it so it starts to melt. Then you use it to gently scrub your skin. Rinse it all off, and then use whatever else you use. I use a cleanser and moisturizer by Aveeno. They hadn’t been working by themselves, but with all three things together, my skin is finally clearing up.
Now that it’s not a secret anymore, maybe this little trick will work for you, too.
See you tomorrow!
